December 30, 2025 Chester, NJ – We would like to thank Chester Borough Mayor Janet Hoven and the Borough Council for their continued support of the Chester First Aid Squad and for helping to clarify recent questions surrounding EMS coverage in Chester.
There has been understandable confusion following Chester Township’s decision to implement 24/7 EMS coverage with Atlantic Health for Township calls. We appreciate the Borough’s clear statement confirming that there is no change to EMS services for Chester Borough residents, and that the Borough’s long-standing relationship with CFAS remains in place.
For 80 years, CFAS has been proud to serve ALL residents of the Chesters. We are grateful for the Borough’s transparency, support of volunteer emergency services, and recognition of the dedication of our community’s first responders.
For those seeking additional clarity, we encourage residents to read the Borough’s full statement here: https://chesterborough.org/
Chester Township residents with questions regarding Atlantic Health EMS coverage and billing practices should contact the Chester Township Mayor’s Office.
Thank you to our community, our volunteers, and Chester Borough leaders for their continued trust and support.
